Sewer Main Lines
SYMPTOMS OF SEWER MAIN LINE BACK UPS
-Toilets bubbling for no apparent reason or not draining -Water seepage around your toilet bowl -Dirty water rising from your bathtub or shower drains -Leaking pipes or over flowing cleanouts Your sewer main line, also known as a sewer lateral is the main drainage system for your home or business. It’s usually a 4” pipe from the underground of your building, connected to a city sewer line and located in the street or easement. The most commonly known blockage to occur for a sewer main line is root intrusion. Root intrusion usually occurs at failed joints of old clay pipes.
The roots will grow and act as a screen allowing waste
water not to flow properly. Toilet paper and other solids will gradually collect on the roots and cause a
system blockage.
OTHER KNOWN CAUSES FOR A SEWER MAIN LINE BLOCKAGE
